Democrat Mike Denklau is taking on Iowa's Fifth District Incumbent Steve King in this November's congressional race. Denklau feels his experience in the banking industry and Iowa's educational system have given him the perspective he needs to best serve the Fifth District.

"I think a couple of quick things we can do that will have a lot of bipartisan support. We can make the tax credits around renewable energy, particularly wind energy, more long term in nature which would promote development on wind turbines, which could lead to more industry and education around those sorts of programs," said Denklau.

Denklau also feels infrastructure projects in Iowa need to be a priority, like the Highway 20 expansion project.
