KMEG 14 - News, Weather, Sports for Sioux City and Siouxland | Jacob Heller

Jacob Heller

Jacob Heller became a reporter at KMEG/KPTH in Sept. 2010, after working behind the scenes as a production assistant for a year.

Originally from the small town of Irwin, IA, Jake attended Iowa State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and Mass Communication in May of 2009.

Jake knew from an early age: he wanted to be on TV! He was very active in speech and drama in high school, and was a part-time announcer at KDSN radio in Denison, IA for 5 years.

During college, Jake interned at WHO-TV in Des Moines, an experience that re-affirmed his ambition to eventually become a reporter.

Jacob had only visited Sioux City a handful of times before moving here in 2009, and really loves the area. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his girlfriend Anna, watching Star Trek, and playing the old Atari.

Jacob loves Siouxland, and really enjoys meeting hometown folks and telling their stories. If you have a story idea, or just want to say "hi," feel free to e-mail him at jheller@kmeg.com
